Well, I have very mixed emotions about this book. I love and hate that it is loosely based on our former first lady, because I feel like it changed my opinion of her and I am not sure if that is fair. I enjoyed learning of her love for children and reading, two passions I share. I even enjoyed Alice's spunk and strength when she began dating Charles. But, I did not love that "Alice" felt like she had no say in her husband's life. I do not think the President's wife should run the country, but I also don't understand how you can be married to the President and share almost none of his political views. As I said I have mixed emotions, I can't wait to see what my book club thought.
